[training in vivid means training with armor on. it feels so good to have it on, so right. not wearing it while on patrol means barely wearing it at all. flynn always tries to bring his armor with to train since he can't allow himself to get complacent and then end up burdened by the weight of it! that just wouldn't do!!
now done with today's training, flynn's heading back home. should he pick up some groceries tonight? hmm... no, they should have enough to last till tomorrow. walking through a supermarket with armor tends to get a little too tight. yeah, the knight in shining armor opts to simply head home for now.]
[Ever since arriving in this not so shining, shimmering, and splendid new world, Mabel couldn't help but wander around the place. Of course, she also couldn't help but notice as of late, her brother's been pretty clingy to her and no matter where she went? He went along side with her.
Although, today seemed to be the exception as she stood in front of the supermarket. Let's see...she could make something to cheer him up! However, that proved to be easier said than done.
Of course, when she happened to see a certain person nearby in said shining armor? Here, Flynn, have a young girl just stare at you. And just...stare.]
[It's only been three days since Dipper's twin sister showed up in Cerealia. Rise had been preoccupied with helping Chie get out of ViViD and get settled along with getting swept up in other things, but it was a surprise to her when she came home and found another girl in the apartment who looked remarkably like the small boy she and Yu have grown fond of.
Mabel, as it turns out, is nothing like her brother and it's something Rise is grateful for. It makes it easier to approach her when Rise herself needs a pick-me-up and to not think of the way the apartment is suddenly much emptier without Yu. It's still early in the day when she finds Mabel in the apartment and she approaches, a friendly smile on her face. Be the adult, Rise. You can do it.]
[At the same time, Mabel's gotta admit. It was kind of weird that she had been here before and yet, she had no recollection of anyone she had met before. Not only that, despite the brave face she put on, she was actually kind of nervous.
Just what was Cerealia anyway? What did they want from us? Or if their power point slides were really true despite Dipper being here with her. Not that she'll say much. Not when someone who she met the other day just left...
But should Rise come closer, she'll find that Mabel mmiiggghhhttt be doing something with one of Dipper's jackets]
Hm? Yeah, I'm doing all right ! Nothing but good old fashion setting in here with you guys!
[ Relatively speaking, the last few days have been...good. Really good. Yu, Yang and Ruby were all back, Mabel is still here and Dipper was less afraid of her spontaneously disappearing any second, and nothing had gone terribly wrong in the colony for a few weeks now. Things were...almost normal.
That's what freaks him out the most.
And even with the relative normalcy, sleep still doesn't come to him easily. And when he does eventually get there, there are always dreams.
Or nightmares, more precisely. Nightmares that involve the Nexus Code and triangle demons and monsters and masked aliens and falling, falling, always lots of falling.
That's when he wakes with a start, sitting up abruptly in his bed and cutting off a yelp of fright. He's breathing hard, but he hopes it's not enough to wake up his sister.
[For the past few days, it was quite the adjustment change for Mabel. While she could adapt to most things, it was odd to suddenly go from Gravity Falls to Cerealia. And to know people who knew her before?
She might not say anything but it was quite the jump! But the thing that was the biggest change? Was that her brother was still not telling her something.
She just knew something was wrong but knowing her brother won't say a word? That was scared her. What was he hiding? Where was the brother that would tell her whenever he was troubled?
Whatever it might be, she was at her breaking point. If he won't say something, then she will! But perhaps she might get her chance.
When she suddenly heard the yelp from her brother, she quickly opened her eyes to find one frighten Dipper from across the room]
A lot happened when he was home. A lot, and yet, he knows he was only gone from Cerealia for a few days. Even more disconcerting is that he didn't even remember being in Cerealia when he was home, but at least now that he's back, he remembers. That's - good. It makes things simpler.
Relatively speaking.
The first place Dipper heads is to the apartment. With his return, he knows who he needs to see first - he just hopes she hasn't disappeared again in his absence, or done anything else crazy. He hadn't handled it well at all when she'd disappeared on him, after all.
He opens the front door and steps inside this place he'd come to think of as home, and calls out. ]
[Mabel didn't even answer the door at first, she was too busy drawing all over her notebook with her new robot. (That and there were a bunch of scattered candy wrappers all over!) As she looked over her creation, she just studied it rather carefully before giving a small sigh.
The past couple of days had been hard on the poor girl. Ever since Dipper had gone missing, Mabel didn't feel like doing anything. Even with a brand new robot whom she named Sophia Elizabeth didn't seem to do anything. Right now, she just felt lonely. And the worse part, she couldn't do much about it.
All she knew was that Dipper was probably stuck in some weird nexy code or something and even if she wanted to get him out, she just couldn't. All she could do now was just either hope this was some kind of error or just believe he was truly gone. (And she definitely didn't want to think about that!)
So when she heard a familiar voice behind the door?]
...Dipper? Whoa, Dipper, is that seriously you?! [She didn't even bother to wait one more minute! The moment she opened the door, have a tackle hug from her!]
[ Dipper doesn't preface his return with a text to his sister. The idea doesn't even enter his mind, honestly. He's too wrapped up in layers of guilt and doubt and regret and cold, why is he still so cold, it shouldn't be this cold. Maybe it's just his mind playing tricks on him. Or maybe it's an omen, a lesson, like the last time he'd died and he'd seen the face of the very robot who was responsible for him ending up in that cave.
But that's where the blame on the robot ends and his blame begins. And from there, it goes on and on and on and...
The only thing that keeps his feet moving is the very uncertainty plaguing him about Mabel's fate. He'd been gassed, kidnapped, chased by hellbats, frozen to death, and at least a few days had passed. What if something had happened to her? What if she had been taken somewhere, too, and had gotten hurt - or worse? What if he hadn't been there to help her when she got back, leaving her to navigate fear and uncertainty on her own? What if she'd been sent home while he was out? What if she'd just been waiting for him to return, broken promises occupying his space in their room?
What had he put her through, all because he was so desperate to get answers that he'd gotten himself and others killed?
Would he even be able to look her in the eye?
When he finally arrives at the apartment, he lets himself in and the door clicks shut behind him. He takes a step, and another, and that's as far as he makes it.
He drops down and curls up with his back against the wall, knees drawn up and face buried against them.
It's so cold, it's so cold. ]
[ 7/18, action ] I do love them spam and heartbreak
[Hearing her brother dying once was bad enough but twice? That was more than enough to make the girl stay in her room for a few days. Of course, while she knows she can't do that, it didn't stop her from feeling as if every energy had been sucked out of her. While she knew something had happened to Dipper, she didn't want to believe it. Or rather, maybe she was in denial. After all, as soon as she saw a few of her friends showing up in the colony, she wondered why her brother didn't say anything to her. If he hadn't shown up already, then something must have happened.
Even when she tried to contact him, he didn't say anything. It just wasn't like him to respond back and especially after such a dangerous mission. Dipper was always on top of things, there was no way that he just wanted some time for himself!
...Right?
However, during her conversation with Hiro, it didn't take her long to realize something was wrong. If his best friend couldn't contact him, there was only one logical conclusion. Her brother was dead. How could this happen? She knew Cerealia was a terrible place but to kill someone twice and they couldn't care any less? What kind of heartless people were they dealing with?!
She didn't want to think about it but she couldn't stop thinking about what happened. Just how in the world did Dipper die? Was it painless? He didn't suffer did he? Were there others with him so he didn't have to die alone? So many things were rushing through her head and they couldn't stop! Even knitting as many sweaters as she couldn't didn't help much either.
As she attempted to knit her 20th sweater in her room, she sniffled before wiping the tears off. She can do this. She just didn't need think for a while, that's all!
However, when she heard the door click, Mabel looked straight outside. It wasn't her brother was it? While she had been tricked so many times into believing he might show up any minute, she always fell for them. This time was no different as she walked straight toward him]
[He'd fallen asleep for a few hours after he got home, predictably resting uneasily for the time being. When he wakes up again, he scans the CereVice to see the names of people in the colony, debating who he could text.
It's then that he notices one very, very alarming thing. Dipper's name is missing. Dipper's name is missing from his list again and it seems impossible but he checks once, twice, and three times before realizing there's no mistake. Tadashi's app never makes mistakes.
It's with shaky fingers that he punches in a text to the next best thing, really, really hoping there's just some sort of explanation.]
Hey Mabel. How's it goin'?
[He can do that at least. Be sort of nice before possibly destroying the girl's world. It's fine.]
[Ever since Mabel heard her brother and a few of her friends were away, she couldn't help but worry. While they had been here far longer than she had been, she can't help but wonder if everything was going to be okay. After fighting her robot and knowing exactly what Cerealia could do, she didn't know what was going to happen to them.
Not to mention after hearing how her brother had died once before, she just wanted him to be safe. Still, when the days passed by, she just had to keep her smile. What else could she do? However, as soon as she noticed a few of her friends started to come by home, she knew something was wrong.
Mabel might not be as smart as her twin but it didn't take a genius to know something seemed off. In the back of her mind, she didn't want to believe it but...the evidence was hard to ignore.]
Hiro! Oh my gosh, you're okay! You are okay aren't you? I mean, you're not hurt right? Like...not super super hurt right? Or anything at all?
[It’d been three days by her CEREVice’s clock since the incident. It wasn’t something Rei was particularly upset about, all things considered. What had happened was just something that had happened, and it was her fault for not weaving tighter defenses, really. It was not a pleasant feeling, knowing that she’d been gone, but it was less the actual cessation itself and more the ripple effect it would have on the people who knew her. She’d always been the strong one, someone that the colonists could rely on and take comfort in. Now she wasn’t sure how they’d react. Could she be that person, or would their viewpoint change when they learned what happened? Hopefully not.
Like always though, she isn’t going to do things by half measures. So once she’s changed into comfortable shoes she heads out to the various apartments of friends and compatriots, arriving with just a simple text to let them know she’s on her way.
When she arrives at Mabel’s place, she taps on the door and waits patiently. The little girl had lost so much, and been through so much that she knew that her friend was not doing well. And what kind of monster would let Mabel Pines go unhugged?]
[By this point, Mabel was aware of what happened. After her incident with Dipper, she had a feeling a lot more people might have died from the interlude. Not that she wanted to think about it but it was difficult. During the past 3 days, she did nothing but knit as many sweaters as she could and even then it wasn't working. Now with 20 sweaters filling her closet, she could open her store whenever she wanted to. But she just wasn't in the mood.
Not when brother died again.
It was kind of funny. Despite what CERES had done, a part of her wanted to believe that they weren't such bad people. There had to be a reason they were doing all of this. Right?
But just then, that's when she heard a knock on the door]
Rei! Yeah, I am! Just hold on for a minute! [When she opened it, Rei will see Mabel's eyes were slightly red. Somebody had been crying for quite sometime]
[So... it's early. Super early. No doubt the rest of the building is sleeping, but someone is apparently awake, as they're both knocking and ringing the doorbell to where Dipper and Mabel live with frantic force.
Sorry, Mabel, you're probably not going to be able to sleep off Dipper's disappearance just yet.]
[Just as Mabel heard the constant knocking on the door, she couldn't help but wonder who it might be. In that moment, it didn't register to her that Dipper was gone from his bed.
Who would be fully wake at such an ungodly hour? Whoever was knocking better had a good reason for this!! However, when she opened the door, all the anger inside the girl seemed to disappear.
After all, it's not everyday you get to see a cute flying blue potato]
...Whoa...I'm not dreaming am I? Hmmmm, this would be the part where I wake up but I'm not sure if I want to. {Because seriously. Cute flying blue potato]
[He's got business at the Casa du Pinesona, and some of that business is Mabel, even if he's still a little embarrassed about this whole 13-year-old thing . . .
Well, here he is, though, knocking on her bedroom door once he gets a moment to go find her.]
[The moment that Mabel heard a knock on the door, she wasted no time in opening it! Although, should Leon see her room, she'll find that the entire place was packed with nothing but yarn and glitter all over the place!
Even her face was covered in glitter too!]
Leon? Whoa, what are you doing here? What a surprise, I didn't know that you were coming over today!
[Despite how cheerful she sounded, the expression on her face just screamed out how tired she was]
[As Mabel stared at the message, she couldn't help but be awfully suspicious about this. But if this was game Honey Lemon wanted to play, then she'll play it all right!]
Of course! Whatca got for me? I'm sure I can answer anything that comes my way!
[sweater dress-up round two ends up happening!! flynn would never say no to the request to model more for mabel regardless of how lucrative running a sweater business would be right now.
he comes by at the agreed upon time and knocks on her door. it'll be nice to see mabel again. ...doubly so since actual seeing can happen now. now if the sweater fitting goes better than last time? it'll be a perfect day filled with helping out a friend!]
[The moment that Mabel heard Flynn knocking on the door, she wasted no time in rushing over there! As soon as she opened it, there was a huge smile on her face!]
Well, look who it is! Long time no see, it's been quite a while hasn't it? How have you been? You're feeling a whole lot better now aren't you?
[Because she doesn't want you burning anymore buildings, thank you!]
action.
