[training in vivid means training with armor on. it feels so good to have it on, so right. not wearing it while on patrol means barely wearing it at all. flynn always tries to bring his armor with to train since he can't allow himself to get complacent and then end up burdened by the weight of it! that just wouldn't do!!

[It's only been three days since Dipper's twin sister showed up in Cerealia. Rise had been preoccupied with helping Chie get out of ViViD and get settled along with getting swept up in other things, but it was a surprise to her when she came home and found another girl in the apartment who looked remarkably like the small boy she and Yu have grown fond of.
Mabel, as it turns out, is nothing like her brother and it's something Rise is grateful for. It makes it easier to approach her when Rise herself needs a pick-me-up and to not think of the way the apartment is suddenly much emptier without Yu. It's still early in the day when she finds Mabel in the apartment and she approaches, a friendly smile on her face. Be the adult, Rise. You can do it.]

[ Relatively speaking, the last few days have been...good. Really good. Yu, Yang and Ruby were all back, Mabel is still here and Dipper was less afraid of her spontaneously disappearing any second, and nothing had gone terribly wrong in the colony for a few weeks now. Things were...almost normal.
That's what freaks him out the most.
And even with the relative normalcy, sleep still doesn't come to him easily. And when he does eventually get there, there are always dreams.
Or nightmares, more precisely. Nightmares that involve the Nexus Code and triangle demons and monsters and masked aliens and falling, falling, always lots of falling.
That's when he wakes with a start, sitting up abruptly in his bed and cutting off a yelp of fright. He's breathing hard, but he hopes it's not enough to wake up his sister.
It was just a dream, it was just a dream...
But they were memories, too. ]
